Job Summary
Project Engineer will provide mechanical engineering leadership to product design, manufacturing processes and capital equipment development, support NPIs, and drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery. Responsibilities include owning production, assembly, tooling, and test/setup instructions; developing and maintaining project plans; monitoring cost, schedule and technical specifications; leading lean process improvements; coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and vendors; ensuring a safe work environment; and delivering results that align with business goals and budgets.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of industry experience, preferably in aerospace
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office products used on a daily basis
- Ability to work as part of a team with little or no supervision
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques, Quality System, and SPC tools
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Ability to use CAD to design fixtures and in process drawings, Unigraphics preferred
- Strong project management skills
- Strong manufacturing process knowledge in machining is preferred
- Experience in two or more of the following areas is desired: turning, milling, grinding, assembly, paint, heat treat and plating processes
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Compensation is based on experience
