Job Summary
Project Engineer responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives and applying quality tools to resolve complex manufacturing issues. Duties include acting as Engineering Team Facilitator, directing cross-functional projects, executing 8D problem-solving across customer complaints and internal failures, applying advanced statistical techniques, coordinating change management and experiments, leading audits (vendor, customer, internal, certification), mentoring engineers and technicians, and coordinating cross-functional plant activities to ensure successful new product transfers and manufacturing validations. Candidates should have a BS in Engineering, 5-10+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor packaging or chemical processing, experience with Six Sigma and Lean, and a track record of leading multi-functional teams to reduce cost, improve quality, and enhance productivity.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical or Industrial Engineers also considered)
- Minimum 5-10+ years of engineering experience in Project Management, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering in semiconductor packaging or chemical processing; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Mixing, coating, converting and punch press experience
- Certified Quality Engineer by ASQ preferred
- Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred
- Lean Principles knowledge and application
- Leadership training and/or experience leading projects and small groups of professionals
