Job Summary
Lead the design and evaluation of overhead transmission and distribution lines, architect complex infrastructure within a high-stakes energy-project framework, and drive standards and technical guidance. Responsibilities include directing high-fidelity PLS-CADD modeling, reviewing and stamping engineering plans and equipment selections, developing firm and client engineering standards, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, producing authoritative technical reports and calculations, and providing mentorship and quality control for junior staff. Requires a BS in Civil or Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited), PE license, and 5+ years in Transmission Line Engineering or Utility Power Systems. Hybrid/Flexible work in Baltimore area with a focus on grid modernization and safe, compliant engineering practice.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5+ years of progressive experience specifically in Transmission Line Engineering or Utility Power Systems
- Expert-level command of PLS-CADD
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication and ability to interface with employees at all levels
Desired Qualifications
- ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil or Electrical Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5+ years of transmission line engineering or utility power systems experience
- PLS-CADD proficiency
- Project management experience (preferred)
