Job Summary
Lead design of high-voltage overhead transmission and distribution systems using PLS-CADD to create models for new builds and modernization; conduct technical reviews of documents to ensure alignment with utility requirements and safety standards; develop technical reports, calculations, and sketches; drive design-standards optimization; collaborate with engineering managers, environmental consultants, and utility clients; take ownership of project lifecycles, mentor junior staff, and contribute to internal quality control; requires ABET-accredited Civil or Electrical Engineering degree and a PE license, with 5+ years of power transmission/utility engineering experience; hybrid remote work option available in Raleigh, NC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in power transmission or utility engineering
- Expert-level command of PLS-CADD for overhead line design
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Preferred: PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER experience
- IEEE or similar industry associations participation is a plus
