Job Summary
The Project Engineer for Hydraulic Design at McAdams will focus on the planning and design of drainage elements for multimodal transportation projects. Responsibilities include delivering high quality projects, overseeing design production, coordinating with service lines, participating in field reviews, and advancing projects through various stages including design and permitting. The role requires strong analytical and technical skills, with an emphasis on hydraulics engineering and erosion control, along with excellent communication and task management abilities. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, a North Carolina PE license, and a minimum of 5 years' experience.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Biological and Agricultural Engineering or a related field
- North Carolina PE required (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- 5+ years of experience related to hydraulics engineering, water resource engineering, and erosion and sediment control design, preferably on NCDOT projects
- Knowledge of MicroStation/Geopak/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D production workflows
- Technical proficiency in preparing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and reports, scour investigations, erosion and sediment control plans and reports, drainage and stormwater management design
- HEC-RAS experience preferred
- Valid driver's license
