Project Engineer - HV Substations Secondary

Job Summary
Design protection and control systems, including relay settings, schemes, and interlocks for HV substations. Prepare single line diagrams, protection logic diagrams, metering layouts, and cable schedules. Conduct relay coordination studies, load flow analysis, short circuit studies, and arc flash analyses. Develop control panel layouts, SCADA communication schemes, and system integration plans. Verify design documentation against IEC, IEEE, and utility specifications. Support commissioning, testing, and FAT for secondary systems. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate secondary systems with primary infrastructure. Master of Engineering degree with 10+ years of experience required. CEng or PE license mandatory. In-person Day 1 onboarding required.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent in the relevant field from any global organization (e.g., Institution of Electrical Engineers, UK)
- Overall 10+ years of work experience
- Prior experience in leading large design engineering teams performing Grid Substation design in a global consultancy firm
- Experience on HV Plant Design for large EHV Grid Substations
- Previous experience in design teams working for Grid Utilities (for e.g. National Grid, Transgrid, Transpower, Powergrid etc.)
- Exposure to International standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, Australian Standards and Middle East region codes and standards)
- Previous design experience working with GIS and AIS EHV substation HV Plant Primary design
- Chartership or Fellowship with IET or equivalent
- Very good communication skills (Oral and Written) in English language
Desired Qualifications
- Overall 10+ years of work experience is preferred
- Prior experience in leading large design engineering teams performing Grid Substation design in a global consultancy firm is preferred
- Exposure to International standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, Australian Standards and Middle East region codes and standards) is preferred
- Previous design experience working with GIS and AIS EHV substation HV Plant Primary design is preferable

- Previous experience in design teams working for Grid Utilities (for e.g. National Grid, Transgrid, Transpower, Powergrid etc.) is highly desirable
