Job Summary
Project Engineer based in Perth office to coordinate all technical activities during bidding and execution on moderate complexity rail projects, delivering the technical solution on time, on quality and on budget. Responsibilities include driving the overall solution delivery as the Design Authority, coordinating project technical activities to meet contract requirements, standardising technical solutions during bidding, defining and implementing project interfaces between technologies, assisting in the definition and delivery of testing & commissioning activities, maintaining updated project objectives and criticalities with the Project Engineer and Project Manager, communicating project objectives to the team, and ensuring proper configuration management of documents and transmittals. The ideal candidate will have experience in electromechanical design for rail projects, knowledge of ETCS level 2, strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills, and flexibility for travel. The role emphasizes a diverse and inclusive working environment across Hitachi Rail’s global operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Transportation Engineering
- Experience in rail signalling, electronic, mechanical, or software design projects
- Electromechanical Design
- European Train Control Systems level 2
- Communication/ Interpersonal skills
- Flexibility with time and travel
