Job Summary
Project Engineer in the Highway/Traffic department responsible for preparing and overseeing roadway design plans, specifications, and cost estimates; perform geometric design, grading, drainage coordination, and maintenance of traffic plans; coordinate with internal disciplines; assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables; serve as a technical resource for junior engineers and designers; attend client meetings and coordinate with state agencies, counties, and municipalities; ensure compliance with design standards and procedures; support proposal preparation and business development efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 4-8 years of progressive highway/roadway design experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts
- Experience working on county and/or municipal projects, including those that are state or federally funded
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO and MassDOT roadway design standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
