Job Summary
Prepare and oversee roadway and highway design plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Perform geometric design, grading, drainage coordination, and maintenance of traffic plans while ensuring compliance with state and federal design standards. Coordinate with internal disciplines including civil, site, traffic, structural, environmental, and utility teams. Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers and designers. Attend client meetings and coordinate with public agencies including state agencies, counties, and municipalities. Support proposal preparation and business development efforts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 4-8 years of progressive highway/roadway design experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts
- Experience working on county and/or municipal projects, including those that are state or federally funded
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO and MassDOT roadway design standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
