Project Engineer - Heavy Civil Construction with AIS Infrastructure

Job Summary

Develop and implement project plans covering scope, budget, and schedule while conducting feasibility studies and site investigations. Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications, and drawings, then coordinate with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure requirements are met. Monitor and inspect construction activities to verify compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations, working closely with the quality control manager. Track submittals and complete RFIs, REAs, CORs, and CTCs. This role supports heavy civil projects in the Southeastern U.S., primarily in Georgia, with occasional travel to Chattanooga, TN, and requires a security clearance.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secure facilities, including military bases
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing and assisting with management of civil construction and/or public infrastructure projects
  • Willingness to travel to different assignments and project sites as needed
  • Willingness to work in the Chattanooga, TN office on occasions as needed
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and project management
  • Adherence to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • Experience with quality control tasks on a heavy civil construction site
  • Any quality-related certifications
  • Experience working with USACE and/or on NAVFAC projects
  • Experience with industrial power plant projects and/or DOT projects
  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management software
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations
  • Proficiency in construction project management
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
  • Ability to track submittals and complete RFIs, REAs, CORs, and CTCs
