Job Summary
Project Engineer - Geotechnical role responsible for planning, execution, and closure of environmental, geotechnical, and civil engineering projects. Lead geotechnical investigations, site reconnaissance, drilling oversight, sampling, and field data collection. Mentor and supervise junior engineers, designers, and field staff; manage client relationships and communicate project updates and technical findings. Prepare engineering reports, specifications, drawings, and documentation; utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoStudio, gINT, and Tablogs for design and analysis. Ensure adherence to quality control procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards (e.g., ASTM, IBC). Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, forecast resource needs, and coordinate with owners, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. Identify opportunities for repeat business and contribute to proposals and contracts. Monitor project performance, budgets, and metrics; participate in audits and contribute to continuous improvement. Opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative, client-focused firm.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in South Carolina or ability to obtain reciprocity where firm operates
- Minimum 5-12 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and/or materials testing with 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
- Knowledge of geotechnical design and construction requirements
- Knowledge of geosynthetics
