Job Summary
Lead and manage an engineering team of Engineers, Designers, and Technicians, planning, directing, and coordinating activities while providing coaching through performance feedback and individual development plans. Drive continuous improvement efforts across engineering disciplines and make critical decisions impacting projects and initiatives. Perform high-level engineering analysis, design, validation, and troubleshooting of complex electrical/electronic systems for high-voltage heavy-duty vehicles, including prototype and production builds. Select and design complex electrical components for function, cost, reliability, and manufacturability, and prepare delivery of plans, designs, and reporting. Manage department budget, forecast operating costs, and direct budget requests, potentially assuming P&L responsibility. Collaborate with internal and external customers, suppliers, and engineering leadership to defend technical decisions and manage multiple project priorities on time.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Five (5) or more years of related experience
- Regular attendance
- Routine shift hours
- Infrequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation
Desired Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Familiarity with programming languages and controls software
- Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 protocol
- Automotive High Voltage Training/Certification(s)
- Power Electronics and Machines integration design experience
- Energy Storage system integration design experience
