Job Summary
Project Engineer Diver responsible for performing underwater and topside inspections of bridges and waterfront structures under NBIS and OSHA guidelines across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Lead dive inspection teams, ensure safety and data accuracy, draft and review inspection reports with findings and recommendations, maintain diving equipment, and plan/schedule field activities while coordinating with stakeholders to support emergency response and rapid assessments. Requires PE licensure, extensive field experience, ADCI certifications, medical clearance, travel readiness, and proficiency with documenting technical results. Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation and familiarity with structural design or NDT/NDE is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
- 7+ years of experience performing underwater bridge inspections
- Meets NBIS Underwater and Topside Team Leader qualifications
- Commercial Diving (ADCI) Certification and current USDOT physical
- ADCI-approved medical exam within the past 12 months
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required
- Physically able to perform field work, including operating small boats, carrying equipment up to 75 lbs, and working in varying weather conditions
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve project goals
