Project Engineer/Cost Engineer

Job Summary
Assist in establishing committed cost reports, input potential cost items, and review and qualify change orders. Process project costs and invoices, request pricing for changes via submittals and RFIs, and manage the submittal register and on-job log. Handle document control by processing shop drawings, tracking Requests for Information, routing jobsite correspondence, and archiving project information. Enforce corporate safety policies on the jobsite and document minutes during meetings. This role may be filled as a Project Engineer or Cost Engineer depending on needs. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture and 2-3 years of industry experience.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in the construction industry
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture
- Ability to lead meetings
- Resourcefulness and ability to track down information quickly and accurately
- Maintains high level of professionalism at all levels
- Cost management skills
- Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills
- Commitment to detail and strong sense of urgency
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Must be well organized and possess problem solving skills
- Positive attitude and a good sense of humor
- Negotiation experience and skills
- Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced team environment
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
