Job Summary
Project Engineer sought to support Continental Tide’s Engineering department and Fleet Services Group. Responsibilities include project management, installations, repair, and modernization initiatives onboard ships; monitor and control activities at job sites and onboard vessels; ensure progress per schedule and contract specifications; inspect construction sites and coordinate with contractors; interface with clients on tasking; read and interpret ship installation drawings and NAVSEA standards; collaborate with Senior Management, Program Managers, and Project Leads on Surface and Submarine Alterations, Repair, or Fleet Modernization projects; travel possible; requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and ~5 years of relevant ship systems experience; SECRET clearance and base access credentials required; strong communication and MS Project/Office skills; willingness to work in open environments and confined spaces.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
- Target experience of five years in design, installation, testing and/or repair of ships and ship systems aboard US Navy, MSC and/or USCG ships
- Direct experience in ship repair and installation of HM&E systems and equipment on surface ships and submarines
- Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings and NAVSEA Standard Items
- Ability to obtain SECRET clearance and base access
- Ability to lift 30 lbs and work in hazardous/ confined environments
- Travel may be required within and outside the continental United States
- U.S. citizenship required for most positions
