Job Summary
Project Engineer - Mining/Remediation to support the Giant Mine Project near Yellowknife, NWT. Responsible for design reviews and constructability inputs; planning and managing work packages from design through closeout; developing internal budgetary estimates and schedules; creating scopes of work and tender packages; coordinating pre-bid activities, bid evaluations, and contract award; onboarding subcontractors and ensuring mobilization and construction execution; ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, budget, safety and environmental requirements; managing RFI processes and change orders; maintaining deliverables reporting and communicating with construction leadership and stakeholders. Requires a degree or technology diploma in Engineering, Geology, or related field (or equivalent experience), 3+ years in project/construction management in heavy civil or remediation projects, and exposure to Northern Canada; professional designation or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- A degree or technology diploma in Engineering, Geology, or a directly related technical field; significant experience in lieu of a degree/diploma will be considered
- 3+ years of experience in project management, construction management, including developing project requirements and plans, preparing cost estimates, participating in contract bidding and award processes, and managing projects in execution and closeout
- 3+ years of work experience in heavy civil, northern mining or remediation projects
- 3+ years of experience working in Northern Canada is an asset
- Professional designation (or ability to obtain one) as a professional geologist, engineer, CET; PMP designation is preferable
- Ability to work independently and coordinate team members
- Relationship with HS&E awareness and compliance by all sub-contractors
