Project Engineer, Commercial/Industrial Construction

Job Summary
Manage project controls and schedules, including developing critical paths, look-ahead schedules, and applying Lean Construction techniques. Assist in procurement, vendor performance tracking, and bid preparation while maintaining contract documentation for owner and architect approval. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors on technical and contractual matters to ensure safety and quality programs are executed. Participate in the Engineering Mentoring Program, completing self-assessments against core competencies over a 24-month rotation across departments. This role involves extensive travel, with two trips per month to project sites, and focuses on diverse industries including retail, hospitality, and manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or other relevant technical discipline
- 0-3 years of relevant construction internship or post-undergraduate experience
- The ability to travel extensively and temporarily reside at the project site for extended periods of time, with travel home two trips per month (not every other week)
- Ambition to grow professionally and acquire new knowledge and skills
- The fortitude to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Multi-tasking with a sense of urgency while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with managers, co-workers, subcontractors, and construction craft employees
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Desired Qualifications
- Additional basic knowledge of scheduling, estimating and takeoff software
- Knowledge of Primavera P6
- Knowledge of WinEst
- Knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff
