Project Engineer - Commercial Flooring

Job Summary
Conduct job site visits to assess project scope, take measurements, and identify logistical challenges. Assist with take-offs and preparation of detailed estimates for labor, materials, and preparation requirements. Support project managers in overseeing projects from contract award to completion, managing schedules, budgets, and quality control for flooring installations. Coordinate with in-house installation teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and execution. Perform regular site visits to verify progress, document field issues, and support resolution efforts while tracking job costing, billing, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in identifying risks and implementing corrective actions or process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in commercial construction project engineering or project coordination
- Experience in commercial construction project engineering or project coordination, preferably within the flooring or finishes industry
- Strong organizational and project planning skills
- Ability to read plans/specs
- Ability to utilize digital take-off and estimating tools
- Excellent communication skills
- Teamwork skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in commercial construction project engineering or project coordination, preferably within the flooring or finishes industry (1–5 years preferred)
