Project Engineer (Commercial Construction)

Job Summary
Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, QA/QC policies, and performance standards. Interpret client needs daily and represent them in the field, performing overall quality control of work including budget, schedule, plans, and personnel performance. Assign responsibilities, mentor the project team, and communicate effectively with the project manager and other participants to provide technical support. Review engineering deliverables and initiate corrective actions as needed. This role supports a highly sought-after commercial general contracting company in North County San Diego with exponential growth, focusing on managing technical activities from conception to completion in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent
- Proven working experience as a Project Engineer
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
- Project management and supervision skills
- Decision-making ability and leadership skills
- Time management and organization skills
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar role
- Construction: 2-4 years
- Must be able to work in a fast pace environment while maintaining teamwork and positive attitude
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with BIM or Revit and LEED Accreditation a plus
