Project Engineer (Commercial Construction)

Job Summary
Analyze and resolve field construction issues while reviewing, preparing, and managing RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings to ensure contract compliance. Solicit, evaluate, and qualify subcontractor bids; assist in developing detailed project schedules and budgets. Monitor project progress, support change order management and cost control, and oversee closeout activities including warranty collection and final documentation. Ensure adherence to specifications, codes, and company standards while building relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to promote a safe, compliant work environment. This role supports project delivery across all phases for a well-established General Contractor in San Diego, requiring a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering with 1–4 years of commercial construction experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field
- 1–4 years of construction experience, preferably in commercial projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
