Job Summary
Lead multiple capital projects, maintenance projects, and facility rehabilitations on schedule and within budget by preparing capital appropriations requests, establishing schedules, and reviewing design drawings. Ensure project safety planning and compliance while assisting plant operations and maintenance with technical issues related to production processes, equipment, buildings, and facilities. Participate in cross-functional teams for major capital improvements, collaborate with stakeholders to quantify project benefits, and develop technical specifications for procurement and competitive bidding. Coordinate shop inspections during equipment manufacturing and factory acceptance tests, providing technical advice, calculations, and failure investigations to solve specific problems and improve plant equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Three (3) years of technical related engineering experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Background in project management and planning including project scope and cost development, equipment design, procurement, construction management, and start-up
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering
- Experience in development and implementation of Major Capital Projects in the steel industry
- Experience with production facilities and equipment design, troubleshooting and problem resolution, operations and maintenance requirements in heavy industry
