Project Engineer- Civil & Heavy Highway Construction

Job Summary
Coordinate construction activities for heavy highway and civil projects, assisting with planning, temporary works design, and means and methods implementation. Inspect installed work, equipment, and materials to verify compliance with contract documents and specifications, while enforcing OSHA regulations and safety policies on active job sites. Provide on-site technical direction to foremen and crews, monitor progress, and prepare daily reports, quantities, and documentation. Support project cost tracking, schedule updates, and communication between field operations, project management, and stakeholders. Work extended hours including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet project schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role in heavy civil or highway construction
- Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and materials used in civil infrastructure projects
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job-site safety practices
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required to meet project schedules
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, and lift in a construction environment
- Strict adherence to safety protocols
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites
