Job Summary
Project Engineer at CLPE leads the engineering and design of substation, distribution, energy/microgrid, and SCADA projects; develops engineering deliverables (single-line diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts, grounding designs, protection schemes, calculations, BOMs); conducts power system studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash) and supports procurement, construction, testing, commissioning; coordinates with Project Managers, clients, utilities, EPC firms, and vendors; ensures compliance with IEEE/NEC/NESC and client standards; participates in design reviews, QA/QC, audits, and safety initiatives; supports field commissioning and execution across project lifecycle; requires BS in Engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, and strong writing/communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (required)
- 5+ years of experience in electrical power system project engineering roles
- Experience with substation and/or distribution system design and upgrade projects
- Familiarity with power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, or similar)
- Working knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NESC and related industry codes and standards
- Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship; Military Base Access Security Clearance is required; valid driver's license with acceptable record
- Travel approximately 30% of time
