Job Summary
Develop scopes of work and detailed cost estimates for capital and major maintenance projects while utilizing CAD to design equipment modifications and modify existing drawings. Administer project details within the Maximo system, track actual spending against the annual budget, and ensure all project spending remains within authorized limits. Implement process and equipment improvement projects to reduce costs, improve reliability, and optimize production. Interface with production teams, technical managers, contractors, and the legal department to negotiate terms, manage purchasing contracts, and mitigate risks. Maintain organized work areas, inventory engineering drawings, and utilize training to assist the team in resolving production, safety, and quality problems. Willing to work nights, weekends, shutdowns, and in hot, humid, or noisy industrial environments.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Knowledgeable in the operation of pumps, piping, valves and other system components
- Experience with CAD
- Experience with MS Project
- Experience with Outlook
- Experience with Word
- Experience with Excel
- Good writing and communication skills
- Ability to negotiate price and terms on project purchases
- Knowledge and application of safe work practices and OSHA equipment requirements
- Excellent analytical, organizational, planning and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently and effectively on teams
- Demonstrate respect, ownership, cooperation and responsibility
- Willing to work nights, weekends, weekend call duty and shutdown as required
- Willingness and ability to work in confined spaces and with heights
- Willingness and ability to wear safety glasses, earplugs, hard hat, steel-toed boots and any other required PPE
Desired Qualifications

- Chemical or Electrical engineers
