Job Summary
Lead and mentor junior staff on technical design and project tasks for diverse public and private infrastructure projects. Plan, administer, and design structural bridge projects, conducting detailed structural analysis and developing engineering calculations for reinforced concrete, steel, and other materials. Prepare comprehensive reports, plans, specifications, and estimates while utilizing software such as STAAD, PennDOT ABLRFD, and CADD. Ensure timely delivery of PS&E contract documents, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and conduct quality control activities. Manage field work oversight including surveys, data collection, and construction observation support. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and code requirements. This four-day work week role is based in Morristown, NJ.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- EIT required
- 4–8 years of experience as a bridge engineer
- Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD
- Proficiency with MicroStation or InRoads
- Proficiency with structural design software (LARS, STAAD, LEAP, etc.)
- Experience with NJDOT, NJTA, and PANYNJ projects
- Strong communication, organizational, and team leadership skills
- Ability to work in team setting
- Ability to independently and accurately complete engineering calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete and steel structures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (including MS Project)
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment
Desired Qualifications
- M.S. in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- PE license preferred (but not required) or ability to obtain within 1 year after starting
- Ability to independently and accurately complete engineering calculations for timber and masonry design
- Ordinary proficiency with ORD (MicroStation)
