Job Summary
Lead and mentor junior staff on technical design and project tasks for diverse public and private infrastructure projects. Conduct detailed structural analysis and design for various bridge projects, developing and reviewing engineering calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete and steel structures. Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, plans, specifications, and estimates using software such as STAAD, PennDOT ABLRFD, and MathCAD. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery of PS&E contract documents and maintain quality control standards. Develop quantities and cost estimates to keep projects within budget, while conducting field work oversight including surveys, data collection, and construction observation. Requires a B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering, EIT, and 4–8 years of experience. Four-day work week; salary $95,000–$115,000.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- EIT required
- 4–8 years of experience as a bridge engineer
- Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD
- Proficiency with MicroStation or InRoads
- Proficiency with structural design software (LARS, STAAD, LEAP, etc.)
- Experience with NJDOT, NJTA, and PANYNJ projects
- Strong communication, organizational, and team leadership skills
- Ability to work in team setting
- Ability to independently and accurately complete engineering calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete and steel structures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (including MS Project)
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment
Desired Qualifications
- M.S. in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- PE license preferred (but not required) or ability to obtain within 1 year after starting
- Familiarity with timber and masonry design
