Project Engineer - Bridge - Ohio

Job Summary
Perform conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design for structural elements of transportation and roadway projects, including developing and overseeing bridge, retaining wall, and other structural designs. Lead or support the preparation of construction documents, plans, specifications, and cost estimates while managing project components. Conduct bridge condition inspections throughout Ohio, including occasional overnight stays, and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and design technicians. Ensure quality control and compliance with applicable design standards and client requirements through collaboration with clients, subconsultants, and internal teams. Contribute to project scoping, scheduling, and proposal development as needed. Requires a PE license, 4+ years of experience, and on-site availability in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, or Akron.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE required)
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of employment (or the ability attain within a year)
- Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in bridge design and bridge inspection
- Knowledge of AASHTO and DOT bridge design standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to self-motivate and thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
- Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality
