Job Summary
Prepare design drawings using AutoCAD or Civil3D and perform design work in consultation with the Engineer of Record. Act as a project field representative to document site observations, review construction records, and prepare reports, manuals, and technical memorandums. Assist with contract documentation preparation and coordinate complete records of design and construction submittals. Ensure quality control procedures are completed per Binnie's policies and verify that project designs adhere to industry standards. This full-time role is based in the Burnaby office near Deer Lake, offering mentorship within the Transportation Major Projects Division. Recent projects include the Patullo Bridge Replacement, Fraser River Tunnel, and Steveston Interchange.
Required Qualifications
- Completed Degree in Civil Engineering
- 0-1+years of related experience in a professional engineering environment
- Registered as an EIT with EGBC
- Previous experience in civil engineering environment
- Valid Driver's License
- Sound working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D
- Strong written communication skills including technical report writing
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple ongoing projects
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, other consultants and contractors
- Ability to work cooperatively and productively in a team environment
- Ability to consistently maintain a high degree of accuracy and quality in work
