Job Summary
Design taxiways, runways, and aprons for airport projects using Civil 3D, CAD, and aviation-specific software while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and local standards. Deliver design work for drainage, utilities, and rehabilitation projects by developing plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Coordinate daily tasks with the Project Manager, attend client meetings, and participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor bid evaluations. Assist in construction site visits, manage change orders, and prepare engineering reports, Typical Section Packages, and final bid packages. Confer with contractors and government agencies to discuss plans and schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
- 2-5 years of experience in Aviation engineering
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply civil engineering fundamentals to academic or real-world projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to produce well written technical reports and regulatory compliance documents
- Ability to provide practical and results oriented technical solutions for projects
- Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Desired Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training certification preferred
- Familiar with AutoCAD commands and design features
- Strong aviation/transportation and site/civil technical background, including knowledge of FAA requirements preferred
