Job Summary
Project Engineer to lead developmental engineering programs from concept to customer delivery, organize project staff, and ensure on-schedule completion while managing design-for-manufacturing considerations. Will interface with customers and cross-functional teams, perform design reviews, select existing components or design custom components (mechanical, electrical, optical), and document test and qualification procedures. Requires a 4-year engineering degree and 1+ years of related experience; aerospace experience preferred. Proficiency in Solid Modeling (Creo or similar), MS Office, and ability to interpret drawings and regulations. On-site in East Aurora, NY on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. Must have the ability to lift/move objects up to 25 pounds and work in a moderate-noise environment. The role emphasizes leadership, cross-team collaboration, and timely, high-quality production builds.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of related engineering experience
- Solid Modeling, Creo or other modeling platform proficiency
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Experience with FEA, Aerospace design, LED lighting preferred
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to collaborate across teams and with external partners
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, industry regulations, and engineering documentation
