Job Summary
Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager needed for heavy civil construction in Northern NJ. The role supports senior project leadership on infrastructure, roadway, utilities, and site-development projects across NJ/NY. Responsibilities include assisting project managers with day-to-day coordination, reviewing drawings/specs/RFIs/submittals, coordinating with subcontractors and field teams, tracking schedules and budgets, supporting documentation and closeout, attending project meetings, and ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget. Requires a Civil Engineering or Construction Management background; internship or professional experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, utility, roadway, or site development is preferred. Proficiency with MS Office; Procore, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam is a plus. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to active project sites; comfortable working outdoors. Office-based role with field duties.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Civil Engineering background strongly preferred
- Internship or professional experience within heavy civil, infrastructure, utility, roadway, or site development projects preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Procore, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam experience is a plus
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to work in-office as well as travel to active project sites
- Must be comfortable working outdoors and visiting job sites in all weather conditions
