Job Summary
Project Engineer responsible for providing engineering support to define corrective actions, investigate and implement continuous improvement opportunities. The role supports and/or leads improvement initiatives, collaborates with plant operations, and develops/administrates web-based control tools (SharePoint, Ignition, and related platforms) using Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and other modern web technologies. Responsibilities include reducing machine downtime, increasing process efficiency, designing safety devices and controls, developing control systems for industrial use (primarily Allen Bradley with some Siemens and Omron), mentoring troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and control systems, managing capital projects from conception to installation while following OSHA, EPA, SQF, and local code regulations, interfacing with outside vendors, and creating detailed electrical/mechanical documentation and work instructions. The role emphasizes strong troubleshooting, project management, cost awareness, and adherence to safety and food safety policies within a GMP environment.
Required Qualifications
- College degree in an associated field and/or applied experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, industrial electricity and mechanical and control systems
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Knowledge of PLC and RS Logic to test and/or adjust equipment
- Knowledge of TPM; Experience creating and implementing a TPM program is preferred
- Knowledge of safety programs/OSHA regulations regarding Hot Work, Confined Spaces, Electrical Safety, Contractor Safety, Cranes, Hoists and Lifts, etc. required
