Project Engineer

Job Summary
Collaborate with the Project Team to plan and support the completion of assigned construction engineering projects, ensuring plans meet anticipated deadlines. Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information to disseminate compliance requirements to the Project Team, subcontractors, and vendors. Coordinate delivery of permanent materials and finalize purchase orders and subcontracts with the Purchasing Department. Manage the RFI and submittal process, including project control logs in CMiC, while processing owner billings and assisting with Change Orders. Monitor work and subcontractors for safety compliance, maintain project safety files, and review schedules for special safety measures. This on-site role requires working from the regional office and supports Allan Myers' mission to build infrastructure including highways, bridges, and water systems across the Mid-Atlantic.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a construction management (estimating, operations, and/or engineering) role
- Heavy civil experience preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related major, or equivalent
- Continuing education in construction
- OSHA 30-hour
- FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification
- Working knowledge of contract administration systems
- Working knowledge of job cost management
- Working knowledge of change order management
- Working knowledge of labor & equipment reporting
- Working knowledge of planning
- Working knowledge of scheduling
- Working knowledge of preconstruction planning
- Working knowledge of safety policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of safe work procedures
- Must possess working knowledge of contract administration systems, job cost management, change order management, labor & equipment reporting, planning, and scheduling, preconstruction planning, safety policies and procedures, safe work procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Heavy civil experience preferred
- Continuing education in construction is highly desirable
- FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification preferred
