Job Summary
Project Engineer at ABB will lead engineering assignments for an instrumentation/electrical discipline with low to medium complexity on small to medium service projects or portions of larger service projects. Responsibilities include preparing technical specifications, approving engineering deliverables such as SLD, GA, and FDS, performing technical reviews, evaluating standard techniques for project work, handling testing, installation and commissioning activities, assisting in proposals and cost estimates, identifying customer requirements, documenting as-is and to-be processes, creating work plans and cost estimations, conducting risk assessments, ensuring quality and timely delivery, providing technical support during testing/commissioning, and collaborating with business teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions. The role requires B.E./B.Tech in related fields, 3–10 years of experience in process or safety systems, knowledge of DCS/ICSS and safety systems, experience with FAT/SAT, and familiarity with ABB systems and virtualization technologies. It is a hybrid role based in Bangalore, with a focus on process automation within the energy industry.
Required Qualifications
- B. Tech / B.E in Instrumentation or Electronics or Electrical engineering
- Minimum 3 to 10 years of hands-on experience in process or safety systems
- Knowledge of process or ICSS and safety systems (fire & gas protection systems or emergency shutdown systems)
- Experience in producing documents ranging from pre to detailed engineering and system testing (FAT & IFAT)
- Hands-on experience in virtualization concepts, ESXi setup, RAID configuration and VMware configuration
- Familiarity with ABB systems like 800xA, SG400, Advant, AC800M, AC450, AC410
