Project Engineer 2

Project Engineer 2 position at Los Alamos National Laboratory. The role involves meeting with customers/users to understand and develop Statements of Need and Scopes of Work; resolving technical facility issues, improving reliability of the Plutonium Facility, and implementing modifications or new equipment/processes. Will engage with Design Engineers and System Engineers to develop technical solutions, facilitate design development, design review, and design acceptance, and work with Work Execution and Construction Management to implement design and manage deviations through change control. Responsible for ensuring solutions meet users’ needs across all project phases and for assembling and compiling all project documentation (test reports, designs, drawings) per LANL Document Control mandates. Projects may be inside or outside the nuclear facility footprint, including modifications to accredited nuclear safety systems or renovations. Will work with internal and external resources to deliver high-quality technical design documentation throughout the project lifecycle and contribute to stockpile stewardship and modernization programs. Potential to support 24/7 operations in the future.
