Job Summary
Commercial construction project engineer to plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and monitor on-site construction engineering activities in Charlottesville, VA; act as liaison with architect/engineer and owner regarding project progress and changes. Responsibilities include providing technical support for resolution and tracking of project issues, supporting superintendents to ensure contractors maintain schedule in the field, processing submittals and RFIs, assisting in managing the project schedule, preparing meeting agendas and leading meetings, assisting with planning and managing site logistics, enforcing corporate safety policies on the jobsite, receiving and reviewing contractor quotations for changes and processing change orders, and managing plan review and approval processes with local and state municipalities. Requirements include a 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, 1+ years of related internship experience, OSHA 30 Hour preferred, strong organizational and proactive safety mindset.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year Engineering, Construction Management or related degree required
- 1+ years of professional and/or related construction internship experience required
- OSHA 30 Hour preferred
- Well-organized, detail-oriented and ability to be self-directed to problem solve issues
- Strong organizational skills applied to Document Control and Close Out
- Strong proactive positive attitude with commitment to Safety
