Job Summary
Project Engineer to coordinate and execute multiple DoD-focused technical projects for NCDMM. Responsible for planning and leading projects, developing statements of work, cost proposals, and timelines, while managing budgets up to $1.0M. Communicates effectively with customers, management, other engineers, and technicians; travels less than 30%. Requires a BS in engineering (or AS with extensive experience) and 3-5 years of relevant project-management experience, plus strong reporting and MS Project/MS Office skills. The role emphasizes collaboration, high energy, and the ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment within a fast-paced team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related engineering technical area with 3-5 years relevant experience
- In lieu of a B.S. degree, an associate degree in engineering or a related engineering technical area with 15 years relevant experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading and managing projects with effective delegation of tasks
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes
- Experience working in DoD project and manufacturing environments
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with emphasis on technical report writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project
- Ability to work with customers, management, engineers, and technicians
- Ability to plan, lead, and execute multiple projects within defined budgets (up to $1.0M)
- Developing statements of work, cost proposals, and project timelines
- Limited travel (<30%)
- Collaborative team player with self-starter attitude
