Job Summary
Project Electrical Engineer for the Federal Engineering & Design Team focused on electrical design and system integration across federal projects. Responsibilities include power distribution, lighting, grounding, and electrical system design; preparing calculations, drawings, specifications, and bid-related documentation; coordinating with federal clients, contractors, and internal teams; overseeing design reviews, field observations, testing and commissioning; mentoring less experienced engineers; preparing project reports and technical summaries; ensuring NEC, NFPA, and federal standards compliance; participating in site visits and design reviews; and supporting project planning, cost control, procurement, and schedule risk. Requires dealing with DoD/VA/federal requirements, advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and strong communication skills. Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a PE license, with minimum 6 years of federal electrical design experience; willing to travel for project charrettes and field activities; flexible to remote work arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical design, ideally with federal clients
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD and other relevant design software
- Deep understanding of DoD, VA, and federal design standards and processes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
