Job Summary
Lead the overall delivery of major Research Development facilities from initiation through handover, overseeing multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project outcomes. Provide executive leadership across technical, commercial, contractual, and project control functions, managing procurement strategies, specialized R&D infrastructure integration, and testing commissioning activities. Direct project planning, scheduling, cost management, risk, and change control while establishing governance, quality assurance, and HSE processes. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management with a Master's preferred, plus 20 years of experience delivering complex R&D, laboratory, or pharmaceutical facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or related discipline
- Minimum 20 years' experience in planning, design, management, and delivery of major capital projects
- Demonstrated experience delivering major research, laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, high-tech, or similar advanced facilities
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and specialist venue operators
- Strong understanding of design and construction of R&D facilities, laboratories, and specialized technical infrastructure
- Strong commercial, contractual, procurement, and claims management expertise
- Extensive experience in project controls, including schedule, cost, risk, quality, and reporting
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree preferred
- PMP, RICS, CEng, PE, or equivalent professional accreditation preferred
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex programs while maintaining focus on safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives
