Job Summary
Project Director for federal technical assistance and capacity-building centers supporting SEAs, REAs, LEAs, TEAs, schools, and other education stakeholders. Lead large-scale education TA projects with responsibility for strategic direction, day-to-day management, client relationships, and successful achievement of project outcomes. Oversee delivery of universal and targeted technical assistance, coaching, professional learning, and implementation support; ensure adherence to evidence-based and adult-learning approaches; manage staffing, subcontractors, budgets, quality assurance, risk, and reporting. Coordinate with RELs, federal TA centers, and external partners to optimize service delivery; develop and monitor logic models, milestones, outcomes, and evaluation activities; contribute to proposal development and business development; ensure compliance with federal regulations and grant requirements. Travel to client sites and conferences as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education, public policy, organizational leadership, educational leadership, public administration, social sciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible experience managing education programs, technical assistance centers, research initiatives, or federally funded projects
- Demonstrated experience working within or closely supporting an SEA, REA, TEA, LEA, school district, or other public education entity in a leadership, instructional, operational, school improvement, policy, research, or technical assistance role
- Experience leading large, complex federal contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, or multi-partner initiatives
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas: Technical assistance and capacity building; School improvement; Literacy or mathematics; Educator effectiveness; College and career readiness; Implementation science; Continuous improvement; Research and evaluation; Strategic planning; Adult learning and coaching
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices and federal education programs and policies
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, staffing plans, and multiple concurrent priorities
- Exceptional written, verbal, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to travel periodically to client sites, meetings, and conferences
