Job Summary
Project Development Manager needed to lead and support the full development lifecycle of major thermal power generation projects in the US, from feasibility through financial close and EPC transition. Responsibilities include feasibility studies, site selection, permitting, environmental approvals, regulatory engagement, commercial structuring (including offtake and interconnection arrangements), coordinating with utilities, grid operators and regulatory bodies, developing and maintaining project financial models with finance teams, negotiating development agreements, coordinating with technical advisors and engineering studies, preparing projects for EPC tendering and financial close, managing schedules and risk registers, and supporting investor and stakeholder engagement. Required experience includes 8–15+ years in power generation or large-scale energy infrastructure, lifecycle understanding, and strong stakeholder management across technical, commercial, and regulatory groups. Preferred experience includes exposure to >500MW projects, familiarity with AI data centers/hyperscale developments, knowledge of US power markets, and project finance experience. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Construction Management or related discipline
- 8–15+ years’ experience in power generation, energy infrastructure or large-scale industrial project development
- Proven experience in project development for thermal power, gas generation or utility-scale energy assets
- Strong understanding of Power project development lifecycle
- Permitting and environmental approval processes
- Grid interconnection and utility coordination
- Commercial structuring of energy projects
- Experience supporting or leading projects progressing to financial close
- Strong stakeholder management skills across technical, commercial and regulatory groups
- Experience working with utilities, IPPs, developers or EPC contractors
