Project Development Coordinator for Environmental Planning

Job Summary
Environmental planning professional to manage a portfolio of environmental review matters, open space planning projects, and climate resiliency initiatives. Serve as an agency representative on CEQR/SEQRA and NEPA processes, provide technical review of environmental assessments for large-scale rezonings and projects, advocate for open space protections, prepare environmental assessments and impact statements, coordinate across divisions, attend meetings and site visits with agencies and developers, and prepare planning documents and maps to support open space acquisitions, waterfront access, and resiliency planning. Strong emphasis on communication with stakeholders, ability to analyze regulatory requirements, and capability to present and defend the agency’s open space goals throughout planning processes.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above
