Project Design Engineer

Mentor a small team of engineers and CAD designers in General/Physical Layout as well as Protection & Control packages of substation design projects. Act as the sealing engineer for the majority of work produced by the team and manage customer relations and business development with select clients. Responsibilities include mentoring and scheduling work, serving as Customer’s Point of Contact to manage existing projects and future plans, performing and directing design tasks (physical layout, protection/control, relay settings programming, commissioning, field support, testing), preparing complex project documents and bid specifications, reviewing drawings, and training junior engineers. Proficiency with engineering calculations, design software, and common MS Office tools is required; ability to interface across all levels of the organization is essential.
