Job Summary

Oversee Department Goals for a specific project, including preparing, overseeing and assigning design calculations and drawing development to support Program Goals; check calculations; progress department work; lead and direct Engineers I–III, Designers and Draftspersons; liaise with Engineers, Production Personnel, Customer, Regulatory Bodies and Equipment Suppliers; ensure compliance with vessel structural design, trim and stability, propulsion systems, and related regulations; requires extensive experience in ship design and construction, with hands-on knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office; emphasizes US Navy vessel knowledge and regulatory familiarity (ABS, DNV, GL, NAVSEA, MIL, USCG, IMO); candidates typically hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with ~15 years’ equivalent marine design experience; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to interact with multiple design teams and customers; working knowledge of FEA is advantageous; equal employment commitment statement included; US citizenship required; 18+ with background checks and drug screening.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent engineering degree or minimum 15 years of equivalent marine design experience
