Job Summary
Lead cost management across multiple development projects; supervise cost estimating, cost evaluations, baseline cost reviews, and contractor and supplier cost analyses; maintain corporate cost reference databases and reference materials; review invoices to verify proper revenue collection; oversee cost engineering, estimating, and cost control across several projects to drive accuracy, accountability, and financial efficiency; define pricing structures, risk assessments, and cost formats; prepare and review direct and indirect cost estimates (labor, equipment, temporary facilities, external factors); perform productivity analysis; support procurement with bid criteria and bid evaluation; coordinate cost inputs with project managers, engineering teams, and leadership; plan reporting cycles and stakeholder communications; participate in cost studies, trend analyses, and benchmarking; implement cost-control standards and value engineering; develop training and best practices in cost engineering
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or similar)
- 5+ years of experience in cost engineering (cost estimating, cost control, cost analysis)
- Experience establishing and using cost reference databases to build corporate cost references
- Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel
- Statistical knowledge in sampling, distributions, probability, and hypothesis testing for metrics
- Proficiency with PC operating systems and engineering/cost-engineering programs
- Knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller instructions (including Project Financial Status Reports and Earned Revenue Determination Data)
- Intermediate knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes
- ASCE/ASPE certification is a plus
