Job Summary
Contribute to design assist initiatives involving digital models, concept exploration, and project logistics. Convert digital models between software to ensure consistent organization and standards while developing 3D models and shop drawing packages. Support project teams in estimating, quoting, and creating documentation such as scope and connection proposals. Generate material take-offs, perform quantity surveying, and assist with material procurement. Collaborate with project leaders to prepare projects for CNC processing, create production drawings, and monitor fabrication progress. Ensure quality control processes and QA/QC standards are adhered to throughout project execution. Work 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday with on-site presence at Spearhead offices in Nelson, BC.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in architecture, project management, construction management, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in design or project coordination, preferably in timber fabrication, mass timber, architecture, or construction industry
- Proficiency in Cadwork and architectural modeling software (Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment while working autonomously
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks with a strong graphic sensibility
- Ability to work 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday
- Ability to work on-site at Spearhead offices
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and move around the fabrication shop for work shifts
- Ability to move and carry materials up to 20 lbs on an occasional basis
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in construction, particularly framing, carpentry, or steel fabrication/erection (preferred)
