Project Coordinator, Mining

Job Summary
Coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations of mine planning and construction projects, utilizing software for drill & blast design and mining strategy. Convert five-year and rolling mine plans into weekly execution plans while monitoring schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Manage communication with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely task execution. Review construction drawings and technical documents to verify compliance with project requirements, preparing progress reports, change orders, and RFIs. Conduct site visits to monitor progress, verify quality, and resolve issues, ensuring all activities meet safety regulations and standards. Maintain accurate records of mine activities and assist in preparing tender documents and purchase orders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project coordination or mining engineering, specifically within the mining industry
- Strong knowledge of mining construction processes, with a focus on hard rock open pit mining
- Proficiency in using project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar), as well as Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read and interpret mine plans, drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance
- Degree or diploma in Mining/Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- Previous drafting experience and experience with mine planning software would be considered an asset - Programs such as Datamine Studio OP, Trimble Business Center, Carlson or Surpac
