Job Summary
Project Coordinator responsible for interpreting construction drawings and specifications, tracking progress, and supporting field execution on heavy civil earthworks projects. The role involves traveling to project locations across the U.S., coordinating with field teams, developing work plans, overseeing scheduling and material deliveries, and contributing to safety reviews. Requires 4+ years of relevant experience, a civil engineering/construction management background (bachelor’s degree preferred), and proficiency in Primavera and MS Office. The position is site-based with travel and on-site work, and emphasizes coordination, safety, and on-time project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in field engineering, project coordination, or a similar role within heavy civil construction
- Education in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Proven ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications; perform quantity calculations; support field surveying and layout; compile and verify daily labor timesheets and field reports
- Strong communication skills and leadership abilities; ability to interact with stakeholders
- Willingness to travel and remain on-site for project durations
- Experience with Primavera and MS Office; familiarity with 3D model viewers and document management systems
Desired Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in field engineering, project coordination, or a similar role within heavy civil construction
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling tools such as Primavera
- Experience with construction planning software, 3D model viewers, and document management systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead coordination efforts and interact confidently with stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes including project setup, subcontractor management, RFIs, change orders, and closeout
- Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and problem-solving capabilities
- Willingness to travel and remain on-site for the duration of each project
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications and perform quantity calculations
- Experience coordinating and scheduling material deliveries and managing field crews and subcontractors
