Job Summary
Maintain a clean and safe hospital environment by conducting cleaning projects in the hospital or outbuildings, ensuring compliance with regulations and accreditation standards. Remove or arrange for removal of safety hazards immediately, keep equipment in working condition, and manage inventory supplies to prevent shortages. Respond appropriately and immediately in emergency situations, report incidents timely, and communicate specific cleaning needs to supervisors by the end of the scheduled shift. Reorganize to cover other tasks and changes in schedules as needed, including winter snow coverage adjustments, while working with departmental teams to complete assignments. Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by ensuring assistive devices are available and monitoring fall risks.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred
- Driver's License preferred and ability to provide a good driving record preferred
- Previous health care experience preferred
- Floor maintenance experience a plus but not necessary
- Applicant needs to be a self motivator and work with minimal supervision
- Must have flexibility to cover other shifts as needed for vacation coverage
- Must be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to lift 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
- Must be able to lift greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Must frequently reach (extending hands and arms in any direction)
- Must frequently handle (seizing, holding, grasping, turning or working with hands)
- Must frequently stoop (bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist)
