Job Summary
Assist clients with enrollment in publicly funded benefits including SNAP, Medicaid/Medicare, transportation assistance, and NY State of Health insurance. Coordinate comprehensive long-term care services for eligible recipients while advocating for client needs and serving as a liaison for complex situations. Maintain accurate and secure data entry in Salesforce, adhering to HIPAA standards and confidentiality protocols. Organize records and files associated with programs and projects. Work primarily in an office environment with occasional fieldwork, outdoor events, and evening or weekend shifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field
- an associates degree with a minimum of two (2) years of full-time professional experience
- Experience in direct service within social or human service organizations, including nonprofits
- Proficiency in Databases and Software
- Knowledge of tools such as Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google (Docs, Sheet, Slides, Forms)
- Familiarity with virtual platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Dropbox etc.)
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in the language(s) necessary to perform the essential functions of the position (e.g., English, Korean, or both), including the ability to hear, speak, and be understood in the work environment
- Have hand dexterity to use the computer, office equipment, phones and other devices
- Ability to safely handle physical tasks, including transferring up to 15 pounds
- Occasional travel required for events, or outreach activities
- Flexible work hours may include occasional evening or weekend shifts to meet program needs
Desired Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field is preferred
- an associates degree with a minimum of two (2) years of full-time professional experience
- Experience in direct service within social or human service organizations, including nonprofits, is preferred
- Knowledge of insurance, health services, and community resources related to exceptional health care needs, navigating social service eligibility and budgeting guidelines a plus
- Preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in English and Korean
- proficiency in Spanish and Chinese will be highly valued
